Five-Star Hotel Certification May Become Mandatory In Belarus

Certification of hotels under the five-star system may become mandatory in Belarus. It is currently voluntary.

“We will see the introduction of mandatory certification for hotels in the near future,” said Dzianis Biazhok, deputy director of the National Tourism Agency, in an interview with ONT.

The agency can conduct such certification. The official did not specify when it would become mandatory.

Each star rating corresponds to a specific set of services. Hotels that are unable to qualify for at least one star are expected to be prohibited from operating.
