The Ministry of Culture, by Resolution No. 83 of July 2, approved the Instruction on the methodology for preparing and conducting the evacuation of historical and cultural heritage. The document was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal and enters into force upon publication.
The instruction covers the evacuation of heritage at risk of destruction in the event of emergencies or armed conflict, including outside Belarus.
Evacuation measures are carried out on the basis of civil defense plans and plans for protecting the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies of the respective administrative-territorial units.
Owners of heritage must develop evacuation plans and prepare locations for storing the heritage. Such plans are submitted to local authorities. They must include information on historical and cultural heritage in their evacuation plans, as well as information on vehicles, routes and locations for the storage of historical and cultural heritage designated by its owners.
