Online marketplaces will appoint designated representatives responsible for cooperation with Belarusian producers. The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) press service reported this following a meeting devoted to “issues related to the operation of online marketplaces and the promotion of domestic products in the online environment.”
“The event was attended by representatives of the Industry Ministry, the Bellegprom, Belgospishcheprom, Bellesbumprom and Belneftekhim concerns, as well as heads of trade and services departments, executives and representatives of the country’s largest online marketplaces, among others. The following companies joined the Cooperation Agreement: Internet-Shop Euroopt, Yandex Food, Belpochta, Ozon, FLAUVAU, Onliner and Delivio,” the press service said.
It separately emphasized that the Wildberries marketplace has not yet joined the agreement.
The meeting discussed “key performance indicators for Belarusian producers in promoting Belarusian goods” through online marketplaces.
“The main goal of introducing the indicators is to increase and expand sales of Belarusian goods through online channels. Individual indicators and the methodology for calculating them were examined in detail.
Owners of online marketplaces confirmed their readiness to provide domestic producers with all the information necessary to calculate these indicators,” MART added.
