A resident of Svetlahorsk robbed eight shops in Babruysk in one day. The case was reported by the Department of Internal Affairs of the Mahilyow Regional Executive Committee.

A representative of one of the retail outlets contacted the police and reported a theft. Police identified the person allegedly involved in the theft. The suspect is a 50-year-old resident of Svetlahorsk.

“Taking advantage of the absence of security staff in the sales areas, the man put goods into a backpack he had brought with him and left the shop without paying for the purchases. His illegal actions were recorded by surveillance cameras,” the statement said.

Police later established the man’s involvement in thefts at several other shops. In total, he took goods worth more than 2,000 rubles from eight retail outlets in one day. A criminal case has been opened.
