A 54-year-old man was detained in Hrodna during Independence Day celebrations. The incident occurred at around midnight at one of the security checkpoints.
According to the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee’s Department of Internal Affairs, the man attempted to enter the event area through a checkpoint designated for exit only. When a police officer instructed him to proceed to the inspection area, the man struck the officer on the head with the palm of his hand.
The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. A criminal case has been opened on charges of resisting a law enforcement officer performing public order duties while using violence.
