Alyaksandr Lukashenka has signed a decree approving a draft agreement on the electronic trade of goods within the Eurasian Economic Union.

As his press service reported, the document is aimed at ensuring mutual electronic trade in the EAEU internal market and protecting the rights of its participants. In particular, the agreement establishes the principles of non-discrimination and the free movement of goods, the procedure for the use of electronic document management, as well as requirements for data protection and information security.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission is expected to be granted the authority to establish common requirements and rules for participants in electronic trade.

The government has been authorized to conduct negotiations on the draft agreement and sign it.

It is expected that implementation of the agreement will help increase trade volumes and improve the level of consumer rights protection.
