A group of Libyan military personnel is undergoing training in Belarus in methods described as maintaining “internal security and stability.”
According to a report published by the Interior Ministry of Eastern Libya, trainees are shown learning to disperse demonstrators using batons. Photos from the exercises depict Libyan servicemen practicing crowd-control tactics under the supervision of Belarusian instructors.
The cooperation follows a November visit to Libya by a delegation from the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs aimed at “strengthening security cooperation.” The delegation included the commander of the Internal Troops Mikalai Karpiankou and the head of Minsk OMON Mikalai Maksimovich.
