Uzbekistan’s president dismissed the country’s ambassador to Belarus on July 21, and just six days later, on July 27, the new ambassador, Nuriddin Mamajonov, began his work in the country.
Today, Mamajonov presented copies of his credentials to Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou.
“The interlocutors reviewed current issues of cooperation in the political, economic, and other areas of Belarusian-Uzbek interaction, including those related to the implementation of promising joint projects,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides discussed mechanisms for implementing existing agreements and carrying out the roadmap for developing cooperation for 2026–2030. They also addressed upcoming bilateral events, reaffirmed the strategic level of Belarusian-Uzbek relations, and expressed their intention to continue working together to deepen bilateral dialogue.
As previously reported, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Belarus, Rakhmatulla Nazarov, was dismissed over an “indifferent attitude toward attracting investment and developing foreign trade.” Nazarov had served as ambassador to Belarus since 2024.
