On April 6, Belarusian Defence Minister Viktar Khrenin met with CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov.
Khrenin briefed Masadykov on the current military and political situation in the Eastern European collective security region and informed him about the main operational and combat training activities planned in Belarus this year: the Nerushimoye Bratstvo-2026 command and staff exercise with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces and the Barrier-2026 special exercise involving the CSTO joint formation for radiation, chemical and biological protection and medical support.
“The Belarusian side confirmed its readiness to cooperate in all areas aimed at developing the military component of the Organisation and to seek new points of contact in interaction with other international organisations, such as the CIS and the SCO,” the Belarusian Defence Ministry said.
Masadykov also met in Minsk with Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Belarusian Security Council State Secretary Alyaksandr Valfovich.
