The new academic year will begin on September 1, 2026, and end in late May 2027. The Ministry of Education has set the dates for school holidays and academic terms.
Schoolchildren will study during the 2026/27 academic year as follows:
- the first term — from September 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026;
- the second term — from November 9, 2026, to December 24, 2026;
- the third term — from January 11, 2027, to March 20, 2027;
- the fourth term — from March 29, 2027, to May 31, 2027, and for students in Grades IX (X)–XI (XII), from March 29, 2027, to May 25, 2027.
Accordingly, school holidays in the next academic year will be held on the following dates:
- autumn holidays — eight days, from November 1 to November 8, 2026, inclusive;
- winter holidays — 17 days, from December 25, 2026, to January 10, 2027, inclusive;
- spring holidays — eight days, from March 21 to March 28, 2027, inclusive;
- summer holidays — 92 days, from June 1 to August 31, 2027; for students who have completed the second stage of general secondary education — 81 days, from June 12 to August 31, 2027, inclusive; and for Grade VIII students at cadet schools, the Suvorov Military School and specialised lyceums, as well as Grade X students, except those in specialised sports classes, evening classes, sanatorium schools and Olympic reserve schools — 87 days, from June 6 to August 31, 2027, inclusive.
Additional holidays are also scheduled for first- and second-grade students from February 15 to February 21, 2027.
