The first exercises of the Coalition of the Willing on Ukraine will take place in Poland in September, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in Paris.
“Yesterday’s coalition meeting focused on one key issue: how to ensure security for Ukraine and the region in practical terms after a possible peace agreement or at least a ceasefire. By a joint decision of the Coalition of the Willing, the first exercises involving British and French troops will take place in Poland this autumn. The aim of these exercises is to prepare the entire coalition to provide real security guarantees for the region and Ukraine”, he said.
According to Tusk, Poland will also prepare to ensure the permanent presence not only of US troops but also of European forces.
Military personnel from countries participating in the coalition will take part today in a parade marking France’s national holiday.
