Released political prisoners who were deported from Belarus without passports will be able to obtain a “New Belarus” passport free of charge. The decision was made by the United Transitional Cabinet and the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the Coordination Council reported.
On March 19, following talks between John Coale and Alyaksandr Lukashenka, it was announced that 250 political prisoners had been released. Of them, 235 were allowed to remain in Belarus, while 15 were deported to Lithuania without passports.
