Broad Money Supply Rises 4.8% in June

Broad money supply rose by 4.8%, or 5.18 billion rubles, in June to 112 billion rubles. By comparison, money supply growth stood at 2.5% in May.

Since the beginning of the year, broad money supply has increased by 8.7%, or nearly 9 billion rubles.

According to the National Bank, cash in circulation totalled 16.83 billion rubles as of July 1. It increased by 472.5 million rubles over the month and by 2.34 billion rubles since the beginning of the year.

In July, the M1 monetary aggregate, including transferable deposits, increased by 1.94 billion rubles to 40.08 billion rubles.

Money supply under the national definition rose by 3.34 billion rubles to 72.7 billion rubles.

Ruble money supply increased by 3.68 billion rubles to 76.36 billion rubles.

Foreign currency deposits fell by $92 million in June to $12.07 billion, including a $69.1 million decline in household deposits to $5.02 billion and a $22.9 million decrease in corporate deposits to $7.05 billion.
