Belarus and Uzbekistan have agreed to launch seven new joint manufacturing projects with a total value of $164 million. The announcement was made by the secretariat of Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, Spot reported.
Belarusian and Uzbek Deputy Prime Ministers Yury Shuleika and Jamshid Khodjaev signed a cooperation development plan for 2026–2030 during the third Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan. The plan covers six priority areas.
The plan envisages increasing bilateral trade to $2 billion, expanding industrial cooperation and implementing new joint projects. Cooperation will focus on six priority sectors: the electrical engineering and light industries, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, the production of construction materials and the furniture industry.
The parties also approved a schedule of reciprocal regional visits for 2026–2027 and signed 14 interregional agreements.
Khodjaev said that Belarus and Uzbekistan are already implementing joint projects in the production of cable products, tractors, pharmaceuticals, poultry processing and the assembly of mining equipment.
The forum also marked the launch of seven new projects worth a total of $164 million. They include the construction of a knitting fabric dyeing and drying complex in the Andijan Region, the first phase of a poultry cluster in the Tashkent Region, and projects for the storage, blast freezing and processing of fruit and vegetable products in the Fergana Region.
