Belarusian Forestry Ministry Reports Cross-Border Forest Fire Threat From Ukraine

Belarus’ Forestry Ministry has warned about a cross-border fire threat that could spread from Ukrainian territory.

“A forest is burning in Ukraine just 30 meters from the Belarusian border,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry’s press service stressed that this concerns a new fire and not the large fire in the Chernobyl exclusion zone, which currently does not threaten Belarusian territory.

“The Milashevichy forestry enterprise in Homiel Region is at risk. Forestry workers are monitoring the situation,” the ministry added.
