Figure skaters holding Belarusian and Russian passports will not be able to compete at the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships in Prague. This was reported by the press service of the International Skating Union, Match TV reported.

After the conclusion of the women’s free skating program at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, the outlet asked the ISU whether Russian athletes Adelia Petrosyan and Petr Gumennik would be able to compete at the World Championships in the Czech Republic.

“Figure skaters holding Russian and Belarusian passports will not be able to receive invitations or participate in ISU competitions. An exception was made for the qualification events for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina,” the ISU press service said.

The World Championships will take place in Prague from March 24 to 29. The Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo will conclude on February 22. Belarusian and Russian athletes are competing at the Games under neutral status.
