A Syrian court has sentenced former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
As reported by SANA, Assad was found guilty of premeditated murder, torture, arbitrary detention and crimes against humanity. Assad was sentenced to death.
Seven other officials who are abroad were also sentenced to death.
Bashar al-Assad fled Syria in December 2024. He is currently in Russia.
