The Mahiliou Regional Court has sentenced public activist Mikalai Vitkouski from Naroulia, Homielskaya Viasna reported. He was found guilty of “high treason” under Article 356 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 10 years in a penal colony. The trial was held behind closed doors.
Vitkouski is a public activist from Naroulia and a member of Narodnaya Hramada, an organization dissolved by the authorities. In September last year, he disappeared from his home, and only in November did it become known that he was being held in Prison No. 4 in Mahiliou. On December 17, 2025, he was recognized as a political prisoner.
