Polish border guards recorded five attempts by migrants to cross the border from Belarus between Friday and Sunday.
The previous attempt to cross the Polish border by migrants was recorded a month ago.
Lithuania’s border service reported no attempted illegal crossings on Sunday, while Latvian border guards reported 30 attempts.
Latvia has recently remained the main focus of migration pressure. Dozens of attempted illegal crossings are recorded there every day. In contrast, incidents involving migrants crossing the borders into Lithuania and Poland occur only periodically.
At the same time, Polish border guards continue to detect violations of migration regulations on the border with Lithuania on a daily basis. Over the weekend, for example, Polish officers detained 43 people on the Polish-Lithuanian border. Three were denied entry to the country, 37 were transferred to Lithuania under readmission procedures, and three people were detained on suspicion of facilitating illegal migration.
