As of 7 April, 679 trucks have returned to Lithuania from Belarus, Delfi reports, citing the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service.

According to Lithuanian border guards, 362 vehicles returned through the Medininkai checkpoint and 317 through Šalčininkai.

The Lithuanian-registered trucks had been stranded in Belarus since November, when Lithuania closed its border with Belarus. Belarusian authorities placed the vehicles in special paid parking lots and did not allow them to leave for several months.

Carriers were allowed to retrieve their trucks from 24 March after talks between Alyaksandr Lukashenka and US presidential envoy John Coale.
