Russian authorities in the Smolensk Region have detained a truck carrying about 20 tonnes of Belarusian broiler chicken wings accompanied by forged documents.
The vehicle was stopped on July 3. According to the accompanying documents, the shipment had been dispatched by the Dzyarzhynski Agro-Industrial Complex to Kazakhstan in transit through Russia, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance reported.
Inspectors noticed irregularities in the product labelling. They also established that the veterinary certificate accompanying the shipment had been forged.
The truck has been placed in temporary storage. Following the inspection, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance will decide what action to take regarding the cargo.
