Volodymyr Zelensky has denied Ukraine’s involvement in the strike on a bus carrying Belarusian children in Russia’s Bryansk region.
“As for the drone strike on the bus, all international experts have already concluded — and it seems to me that even the Russians acknowledge it, though not publicly — that this strike was not ours, contrary to what they are trying to claim.
It is very simple. The Russians will stage many different provocations in order to draw the people of Belarus into this war,” Zelensky said on June 19.
A bus carrying Belarusian children traveling to the Russian resort city of Gelendzhik came under what was reported to be a drone attack in Russia’s Bryansk region on June 17. A woman accompanying the group was killed, while eight people, including six children, were injured.
Moscow says the bus was attacked by a Ukrainian drone. Kyiv rejects the accusation and describes the incident as an information provocation. Aliaksandr Lukashenka has said that the drone was Ukrainian and called for the truth about the incident to be established.
