Ukraine and Russia carried out another exchange of prisoners of war. Each side handed over 300 people, the Russian Ministry of Defence said.
The United Arab Emirates and the United States acted as intermediaries in organizing the exchange. The returned Russian servicemen are currently on the territory of Belarus, where they are receiving medical and psychological assistance. They will later be transported to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation, the ministry added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that two Ukrainian civilians were also returned as part of today’s exchange.
“Another 300 Ukrainian defenders are returning home from Russian captivity. Today we also managed to bring back two Ukrainian civilians. Among them are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and our border service. Privates, sergeants and officers. They defended Ukraine in different directions: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and in Mariupol. Most of them had been in captivity for more than a year, some since 2022,” the Ukrainian leader said.
