The Prosecutor’s Office of the Mahiliou Region has reported on its efforts to combat what it describes as extremism. During the first six months of the year, prosecutors in the region filed 234 applications with district courts seeking to have information products designated as extremist materials.

“An analysis of messages, posts, video files and other published content showed that it was aimed at destabilising the country’s socio-political and socio-economic situation, as well as promoting protest activity,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.

The office also highlighted as a particular achievement the discovery by the Chavusy District Prosecutor’s Office of 119 Telegram stickers titled Nazi to Die, featuring pictogram-style emoji depicting Adolf Hitler and anime characters.
