Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with representatives of Belarusian organizations, initiatives and communities in the Czech Republic. The meeting in Prague was attended by representatives of educational, cultural and civic organizations, the Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic, the Belarusian national minority, former political prisoners, volunteers, students, cultural figures and civic activists, the Tsikhanouskaya Office reported.

Participants discussed the life of the Belarusian community in the Czech Republic, support for Belarusians in exile, opportunities for joint projects and cooperation among various initiatives.

The issue of visa restrictions for Belarusians in the Czech Republic was discussed separately. Tsikhanouskaya spoke about cooperation with Czech authorities on issuing visas to relatives of Belarusians and people affected by repression.

“It is important for us not to lose one another. To support, listen, help and invite those who have become a little tired or stepped aside to join in common work. Because the Belarusian community is not only about rallies and statements. It is about people. It is about trust. It is language, culture, memory, mutual assistance and the feeling that we are not alone. Thank you for being here. Thank you for your work, your enthusiasm and your loyalty to Belarus,” Tsikhanouskaya said.

During her visit to the Czech Republic, Tsikhanouskaya also met with the country’s president, Petr Pavel, Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, and Senate Speaker Miloš Vystrčil.
