On April 28, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda on the sidelines of the Three Seas Initiative summit in Croatia.
The parties discussed the release of Belarusian political prisoners and the situation surrounding the European Humanities University, which was recently designated by the Belarusian authorities as an “extremist organization.” Support for Belarusians in Lithuania was also discussed.
“I was glad to meet with the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda. We discussed current developments in Belarus and Lithuania. I am very grateful for the consistent and unwavering support for Belarusians in Lithuania. I especially value Lithuania’s principled position regarding the Lukashenka regime,” Tsikhanouskaya said.
