The trial of journalist Paval Dabravolski is being held behind closed doors, Pozirk reports. The hearing of the criminal case against the political prisoner began on February 27 at the Minsk City Court. He is accused of treason against the state.
Dabravolski left Belarus in 2021, but returned to Minsk in October 2024. In January 2025, he was detained. He is charged under the article on treason against the state (Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code). Last autumn he was transferred from the KGB pre-trial detention center to Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1 in Kaliadzichy.
Paval Dabravolski is a former journalist of Naviny.by. He previously cooperated with various independent media outlets. During the 2020 protests he was detained and held administratively liable in connection with carrying out his professional activities.
