Vitsyebsk customs officers detained Russian and Belarusian citizens who were travelling across the Belarusian-Russian border with drugs.
During an inspection of the Russian citizen’s car, a transparent bag containing a plant-based substance was found in a suitcase. In the second case, a foil packet containing a prohibited substance was found on a Belarusian driver, the State Customs Committee reported.
An examination established that the seized substances were marijuana and hashish.
Criminal cases have been opened against the Russian and Belarusian citizens. They face up to seven years in prison.
