Political prisoner Tatsiana Kaneuskaya, an activist of the Mothers 328 movement, has been released. She has fully served her sentence, Homiel Viasna reports.

In May 2021, Kaneuskaya was sentenced to six years in a general-regime penal colony under articles on mass riots (Article 293 of the Criminal Code) and seizure of buildings (Article 292 of the Criminal Code).

During her imprisonment, Kaneuskaya was placed in a cell-type facility and a punishment isolation ward. In 2022, she was transferred to a prison regime in Mahilyow.

Kaneuskaya was an activist of the Mothers 328 initiative, which unites women whose children received lengthy sentences on drug-related charges. During the 2020 election, Tatsiana served as a proxy for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in Homiel. Kaneuskaya has four children. One of her sons, Dzmitry Kaneuski, was sentenced to three years in a penal colony on charges of inciting hatred. He was released in 2023.
