Polish President Karol Nawrocki has met with Nobel Peace Prize laureate and founder of the Viasna Human Rights Center Ales Bialiatski. The meeting is currently taking place, Viasna reported.
The two exchanged gifts. Bialiatski presented the president with books by Belarusian writers, while Nawrocki gave him a miniature depicting Tadeusz Kościuszko.
Polish presidential spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz posted a photo of the meeting on X.
“Meeting of the President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki with Belarusian human rights defender, a prisoner of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s regime, Ales Bialiatski”, he captioned the image.
It is worth recalling that earlier today Bialiatski also met with Marshal of the Polish Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska.
