Polish customs officers discovered smuggled cigarettes in a freight train that arrived from Belarus, the Polish customs service reported.
The train was inspected at the Terespol border crossing. A total of 350 packs of Minsk cigarettes were concealed inside the frame of one of the flatbed railcars. The shipment is valued at 7,200 zlotys (about $1,900).
Criminal proceedings have been initiated. None of the train crew members admitted responsibility for the smuggling.
