Belarusian citizens are being deported from the United States to Belize, according to the human rights initiative Byaction.
The initiative is aware of two cases in which an immigration court in California issued such decisions.
“We are looking for information about Belarusian citizens whom an immigration court in California has ordered to be deported to Belize.
We know for certain of two such cases involving the same immigration judge. If you have any information about these or similar decisions, please contact us.”, Byaction said.
As the initiative reported in January 2026, at least seven Belarusian citizens were detained by U.S. immigration authorities over a two-week period. All of those detained had arrived in the United States more than two years earlier and were in lawful immigration proceedings.
As of March 2026, at least 14 Belarusians had been deported from the United States since the beginning of 2024. Some of them held permanent resident status. Another eight cases of voluntary departure were recorded, including two in 2026.
