A 53-year-old German citizen was detained at the Belarusian-Polish border after marijuana was found among his belongings.
The man was entering Belarus on a regular bus through the Brest border crossing. While going through customs, he chose the green channel. A service dog alerted officers to the foreign national. During an inspection, customs officers found a container with a green substance hidden in his underwear.
An examination established that the seized substance was more than 8 grams of marijuana, the State Customs Committee reported.
A criminal case has been opened against the German citizen under Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code (illegal transportation of narcotic drugs across the border). He faces up to seven years in prison.
