Poland’s Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported a new violation of the country’s airspace.
“On the night of February 8–9, 2026, military radar systems detected new objects resembling balloons in Polish airspace.
The objects were continuously identified and tracked by military reconnaissance systems. The situation was fully under control and posed no threat to air traffic safety or the security of Polish citizens,” the statement said.
It should be noted that the statement does not specify where the balloons came from or the direction of their movement. Previously, the Polish military said that weather balloons had entered from the territory of Belarus.
Poland’s Border Guard and police have not yet reported the discovery of any contraband delivered by weather balloons during the night.
