A course on operating drones has been included in the “pre-conscription and medical training” subject for 10th-grade students. Belarusian Deputy Education Minister Aliaksandr Kadlubai said this.
“We have strengthened the practical component. For 10th-grade boys, the curriculum includes a 10-hour course on learning about and developing skills in operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). For girls, the practical medical training component has been significantly expanded, with elements of tactical medicine introduced. We have shifted the balance toward practical classes and increased their volume. We have moved away from pure theory to specific skills needed in real-life conditions”, he said, BelTA reports.
Kadlubai also assessed the first experience of holding 10-day training camps for 10th-grade students. This year, they were held at military unit bases and health and recreation facilities.
“We received exclusively positive feedback from the boys themselves and colleagues from the Interior Ministry’s security agencies, the State Border Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defence. Especially from those boys who took part in the training camps in an off-site format rather than at educational institutions. This format ensures the maximum acquisition of practical skills and helps build team cohesion”, the deputy minister added.
