Belarusian Foreign Ministry Advises Careful Selection of Tour Operators After Georgia Bus Crash

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus issued a statement regarding the bus crash in Georgia, in which four Belarusian citizens were killed and 15 were injured.

The Foreign Ministry said embassy staff are at the scene and providing the necessary assistance. Ambassador Mikalai Rahashchuk will also join them shortly. Diplomats are maintaining regular contact with police in Ozurgeti and the management of the clinics. The Georgian authorities are providing the necessary assistance.

The Foreign Ministry expressed condolences over the deaths of four people.

“We are shocked by the tragedy and extend our deepest condolences to the families of those killed and wish those injured a speedy recovery. The Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the Georgian side, will provide all necessary assistance with the repatriation of the bodies and the return of Belarusian citizens to their homeland”, the statement said.

At the same time, the ministry advised people to be more careful when choosing tour operators.

“We would like to draw the attention of our citizens to the importance of carefully selecting tour operators and thoroughly planning travel routes when going abroad”, the Foreign Ministry added.
