The Interior Ministry press service reported the exposure of a fraud scheme involving raw material supplies at a state-owned light industry enterprise in the Homyel Region. According to police, accomplices, including the company’s chief executive officer, embezzled 1.4 million rubles over three years.
The Interior Ministry said that a 51-year-old CEO of the enterprise and a 46-year-old head of a commercial company entered into collusion. They organized fictitious deliveries of raw materials to the enterprise. According to police, the CEO gave instructions to “subordinates to prepare falsified documents related to procurement procedures for components, the selection of tender winners, acceptance of goods into warehouse storage, as well as the use of materials in production and the subsequent sale of finished products.”
As a result, less than three years saw the theft of 1.4 million rubles. Participants in the scheme spent the money on personal needs, including the purchase of expensive cars and equipment, as well as home improvement and construction.
Footage released by the Interior Ministry indicates that the case involves a footwear enterprise, showing an image of a supply contract for foamed rubber overlays for 40,000 pairs of shoes. The sole displays the logo of OJSC Trud.
A criminal case has been opened.
