Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou held a briefing for Minsk police officers ahead of upcoming Victory Day celebrations.

The main events will take place on May 9 at Victory Square and near the Sports Palace. Checkpoints will be set up at entrances to the venues, and access to them by shared electric scooters will be technically restricted. A separate passage through checkpoints marked with an orange canopy will be organized for elderly people and visitors with children.

The Public Security Monitoring Center will operate with reinforced staffing, and an оперативно-ситуационный headquarters has been established. Anti-drone units will be deployed, while rescuers, including water rescue teams, and medical personnel will remain on duty. Similar measures will also be introduced at district-level venues.

Kubrakou demanded impeccable preparedness from personnel and called for special attention to suspicious individuals, unattended items, abandoned scooters, and bicycles. Security forces must also be prepared to restrict access to the Niamiha metro station and close off Pobeditelei Avenue near the Sports Palace.
