The Investigative Committee of Belarus is investigating the murder of a 35-year-old resident of Minsk. His neighbors, to whom he had complained about loud music, are suspected of killing him.
The crime took place in October this year. Two brothers, aged 54 and 60, have been detained.
According to investigators, on the day of the incident, the men were at home, drinking alcohol and listening to loud music late at night.
“At some point, one of the men went to bed, and soon after, a 35-year-old neighbor knocked on their door. He asked them to turn down the volume and stop making noise. An argument broke out between him and one of the apartment’s residents. Hearing the shouting, the older brother, who was intoxicated, came out. Suddenly, he took a knife and stabbed the guest several times in the neck, causing fatal injuries,” the Investigative Committee said.
A few days later, the victim’s mother reported her son missing to the police. She told officers she last saw him through the peephole of her door as he was heading to his neighbors.
An investigative team found the victim’s bloodstained belongings in a garbage container near the house. Police also noticed that the positions of the surveillance cameras in the building had been altered. It was soon discovered that the men the victim had visited had left the area.
Their location was later identified, and the suspects were detained.
“As investigators established, the suspects did not report what had happened to anyone. A few days later, they decided to dispose of the body. Wrapping it in a blanket, they carried it out of the apartment and placed it in the trunk of a car. They then drove to a forested area near their summer house, dug a pit, placed the victim’s body inside, covered it with cement, and buried it,” the Investigative Committee added.
Forensic experts and investigators later recovered the victim’s body at the indicated site.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2, Article 139, Paragraph 15 of the Criminal Code (murder committed by a group of persons). The investigation continues.
