On June 30, the Lithuanian Seimas approved the nomination of Social Democratic Party leader Mindaugas Sinkevičius for the post of prime minister.
Eighty lawmakers voted in favour of the nomination, two voted against, and 28 abstained.
Within 15 days, Sinkevičius must present the government’s programme and the new cabinet.
