A concert by Belarusian rapper Max Korzh took place in Istanbul on June 6. According to Turkish media reports, thousands of the artist’s fans arrived in the city from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and other countries. The stadium of the Beşiktaş football club, which can accommodate more than 40,000 spectators, was completely sold out.
According to the Turkish publication GazeteMag, demand for airline tickets from Russia to Istanbul was so high that some flights were completely sold out several days before the performance. Due to increased demand, airlines had to add additional flights.
On the day of the concert, thousands of fans marched from the Galataport district to Beşiktaş Stadium. The influx of music fans complicated traffic in several central districts of Istanbul and drew mixed reactions from local residents. However, no major incidents or high-profile detentions were reported.
Turkish media described the concert as one of the most notable musical events of the beginning of the summer season. Max Korzh’s next concert is scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf on June 26.
