Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas said that statements by the Belarusian authorities about an alleged drone that entered Belarusian territory from Lithuania do not correspond to reality.
“We are not reacting to this specifically, we are not paying special attention to it, because this is fake news. Interpretations from a country unfriendly to us vary, so there is probably no point in responding to them,” he told journalists, as reported by Delfi.
Belarus’s Foreign Ministry previously claimed that on 30 November a drone flew from Lithuania into Belarus and crashed in Hrodna, calling the incident a “deliberate provocation”. The Interior Ministry said the drone was equipped with a photo and video camera “capable of collecting reconnaissance data” and had dropped “extremist” materials — white-red-white flags. Lithuanian drone manufacturer Granta Autonomy acknowledged that the drone shown on Belarusian state TV resembled its older Hornet XR model, but noted that it had been modified.
