Belarus has introduced administrative liability for mobile operators over the quality of telecommunications services. The relevant amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences entered into force today, the Ministry of Communications recalled.

The maximum fine for legal entities is set at up to 1,000 base units. At present, this amounts to 45,000 Belarusian roubles.

Service quality will be monitored by the Belarusian State Inspectorate for Telecommunications (BelGIE), while all data on violations are collected through the Khvalya system (хваля.бел).

Initially, BelGIE will issue notices of non-compliance to operators. If the deficiencies are not remedied, the companies may be fined.
