Head of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s office in Vilnius and adviser to the democratic forces leader Denis Kuchynski said he had been attacked in the Lithuanian capital. According to him, several weeks ago in a café a man who was with MEP Petras Gražulis attempted to provoke a fight, LRT reported.

“A couple of weeks ago, when Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was still in Vilnius, I was sitting in a café with a member of the Seimas. We were talking, we had a meeting near the Seimas, and I see that at the next table your MEP Petras Gražulis is sitting with some person. And after that (…) the person he was sitting with, apparently a Belarusian, approached and tried to provoke us, was filming and said: ‘Where is my money? I’ll beat you,’” Kuchynski said on the Lrytas programme “Decoding The Essence with Dovydas Pancerovas.”

“He tried to fight us, provoked me (…). His intention was to fight me. Gražulis sat and watched,” he added.

It should be recalled that after reports about a reduction in the level of security provided to Tsikhanouskaya in Lithuania, the possibility of her relocating to Poland was discussed. The government’s decision to transfer responsibility for her protection from the service ensuring the security of top officials to the police was criticized by representatives of Lithuanian opposition parties. Ultimately, Tsikhanouskaya’s office this year officially announced the expansion of its work in Warsaw. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is now in Poland, although part of the office continues to operate in Vilnius.
