The wife of US presidential envoy John Coale, journalist Greta Van Susteren, attended the meeting between Alyaksandr Lukashenka and American preacher Franklin Graham, head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, who arrived in Minsk to participate in a Protestant festival.
Greta Van Susteren appeared in footage published by Lukashenka’s press service.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka first greeted Franklin Graham, then shook hands with Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Vice President Victor Hamm, who addressed Lukashenka in Russian.
“I am immensely pleased. Thank you very much,” he said.
Hamm also frequently serves as Franklin Graham’s interpreter.
Greta Van Susteren then appeared in the footage together with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou.
“Nice to meet you,” she said.
“It’s good that you came. You promised, and you came,” Lukashenka replied.
Greta Van Susteren has previously visited Minsk and even interviewed Lukashenka.
During the meeting, Lukashenka sent greetings to US President Donald Trump through Graham. In turn, the preacher promised to pray for Lukashenka.
