Internet Radio Station Radio Plato Designated “Extremist”

The Partizansky District Court of Minsk has designated the social media pages of Radio Plato as “extremist materials.”

The Ministry of Information has added the radio station’s accounts on Telegram, VKontakte, Instagram, as well as the website radioplato.by, to the national list of “extremist materials.”

Radio Plato is an independent internet radio station from Minsk that has operated since 2018. “We write about the local music scene, host shows and publish podcasts. We do all this to strengthen our community and promote it worldwide,” the project’s creators say.

Belarusian authorities regularly use extremism-related accusations to target opponents and dissent more broadly.
