Growth in Real Household Incomes Accelerates in First Quarter

Real disposable monetary incomes of the Belarusian population increased by 7.6% in the first quarter compared with the same period last year. Income growth stood at 7.5% in January and 7.2% in February. For comparison, the indicator increased by 9.6% in 2025.

The official socio-economic development forecast for 2026, approved by a decree signed by Lukashenka, provides for a 4.8% increase in household incomes.

The structure of monetary incomes in January-March 2026 was as follows:

  • wages — 65.4%;
  • transfers to the population (pensions, benefits, scholarships and other transfers) — 22.9%;
  • income from entrepreneurial and other income-generating activities — 7%;
  • property income and other income — 4.7%.

The share of wages in the income structure increased, while the shares of all other income sources declined.

Real disposable monetary incomes are defined as monetary incomes minus taxes, duties and contributions, adjusted for the consumer price index for goods and services.
