The Ministry of Energy has placed power supply organizations on high alert. Control over the operation of substation equipment and power transmission lines has been strengthened.

These measures are being taken against the backdrop of falling temperatures. Over the next few nights, air temperatures are expected to drop to between minus 15 and minus 24 degrees Celsius, with some areas forecast to see temperatures as low as minus 28.

“Backup power sources have been prepared. A total of 673 emergency repair teams, numbering about 2,500 people, are ready to eliminate possible technological disruptions,” the ministry said.

The temperature in the country’s district heating networks has also been increased.
