The leaders of the United Kingdom, France and Germany intend to persuade U.S. President Donald Trump to support new terms for negotiations with Russia. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.
The G7 summit will take place on June 5–17 in the French resort town of Évian-les-Bains. During the event, the E3 plans to persuade Trump to support new negotiations with Russia.
Earlier, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, in a joint statement with Ukraine, outlined the conditions for such negotiations. They include an immediate ceasefire along the current front line as a starting point for dialogue, as well as security guarantees for Ukraine, including the possibility of deploying multinational peacekeeping forces.
The Kremlin has already rejected the imposition of any preconditions for the start of negotiations.
