The Defence Ministry has begun a command and staff exercise with the North-Western Operational Command. It is being led by Chief of the General Staff and First Deputy Defence Minister Pavel Muraveika.

“During the exercise, Major General Pavel Muraveika heard the decision of the commander of the North-Western Operational Command on the deployment of the command’s forces.

The exercise is aimed at improving the work of headquarters staff in planning operations, taking into account an analysis of the experience of modern military conflicts, and will last for three days”, the ministry said.

The exercise with the North-Western Operational Command began just a few days after the end of a comprehensive exercise with troops from the Western Operational Command.
